There are battles raging today in our nation… Spiritual Battles. These battles are not new, they have been going on since the creation of man. In the earliest mistake of human history, Adam and Eve accepted the serpents tempting and empty lies to “be like God” (Genesis 3:5) - and the warfare began. Today there is a spiritual battle underway for the very heart and soul of this country. Not inside church buildings, but in the halls of our government and in the streets across America. It is being waged in our schools, our workplaces and in hospitals. Spiritual battles are being fought in every heart and home in every community.
We shouldn’t be surprised by the trouble we see now in our society. Seasons of trouble span the entirety of human history. The Bible tells us that every generation will experience trouble (tribulation). Christians around the globe have experienced harassment and persecution that the American church is just beginning to feel. We are daily facing new and tough challenges like never before. What values will shape our future? How will sexuality be understood? How will marriage be defined? Will equality or equity determine our opportunities? Will censorship replace free speech?
